We will honor five extraordinary volunteers at our Five Star Night – three from our Centers and two from area corporations. These individuals have spent a great deal of time and energy helping our members to live as independently as possible in their communities.

And the honorees are:
Mary Powers from our Norristown Center has been a volunteer for over 10 years. She’s here every day preparing Meals-on-Wheels meals for delivery, setting out the morning breakfast and preparing lunch.

Wayne McKallip from our Ambler Center has been a volunteer for nearly five years. He plays a large role in our Meals-on-Wheels program. Wayne helps prepare meals for delivery, and also delivers meals.

Ruth Gallagher from our Glenside Center has been a volunteer for over 12 years. She helps prepare for Meals-on-Wheels for delivery, sets up the kitchen for the day and decorates our Center for holidays.

Gabrielle Shields of Lockheed Martin Corp. recruits Lockheed Martin employees to purchase personalized Christmas gifts for our Norristown members. Each year she delivers 100+ gifts (and lots of joy) to our Center.

Georgia Slater of CSL Behring Corp. recruits volunteers from her company to construct a spectacular haunted house in our Norristown Center each Halloween. Her team arrives in costume and brings lots of excitement.
